El Rincon de Honduras: Reviews & Ratings
really good food!
“If it looks good eat it!” (Andrew Zimmern) I don’t speak or listen in Spanish, but I have never gone hungry in a restaurant that has the menu printed only in Spanish. If it has pictures, I can point…. Catrachitas came to the table first. Okay let’s stop right there. This is where the you request the salsa. I asked the waitress for salsa picante. She went back to the kitchen and after a few minutes brought out a small bowl of spicy deliciousness. It went perfectly with everything we ordered. The catrichitas were small fried corn tortillas, with a thin layer of beans and the grated Mexican cheese on top [cotija]. Very good. My wife chose the Pinchos de Camaron. Shrimp skewered with peppers and onions then grilled, beans, salad, thin sliced plantains and a dipping sauce. She raved about the textures, how the flavors complemented each other and freshness. The salsa worked well too! I had seen a picture of the Tacos Hondureños and could not get past it. Three corn tortillas, filled with shredded chicken, sliced green pepper and onion then deep fried, fresh cabbage on top, dressing and pickled onions. Add the magic salsa and it was perfect. Last comment about the food….the plantains were cooked just the way I like them , thin and crispy! A small, modest, little obscure restaurant. They do now accept credit cards! The current menu is posted with this review date. Recommended!
Lots of delicious food for great prices. (many are $6-8, some others are $8-13) I hear they're about to make a menu in English. Lots of dishes with ground beef, one with a WHOLE fried chicken. Pretty fascinating, well priced, and delicious food! :]
The food is amazing. It is made when you order so the food is always fresh. The pupusas are some of the best that I have tried.
This food is AMAZING! The prices are fantastic too. I had a Rincon Beleadas and it was so delicious. It reminded me of a mix between a loaded burrito and a quesadilla. The meat was seasoned to perfection.
Terrific food for a great price !
Great authentic Honduran food!

The highlight of my visit? The scrumptious catrachitas, small fried corn tortillas adorned with a flavorful layer of beans and cotija cheese. Accompanied by a side of salsa picante, each bite was a delightful dance of textures and spices. I echoed the sentiments of Spike Speedwell, who relished these delights and appreciated the authentic experience, even in a language barrier. The restaurant’s ambiance may be modest, but the food begs to be experienced.
Not to be missed, the Pinchos de Camaron stole the show at our table. Juicy shrimp skewered with colorful peppers and onions, grilled to perfection, made for a symphony of flavors. The addition of thinly sliced plantains offered the ideal crunch, complementing the dish beautifully.
For taco lovers, the Tacos Hondureños are a must-try. These golden, deep-fried corn tortillas enveloping shredded chicken and fresh veggies deliver a satisfying experience with every crispy bite, especially when drizzled with their magic salsa. I can wholeheartedly attest to the textures and freshness of these dishes, which truly highlight the restaurant's commitment to quality.
And let’s not overlook the pupusas. Made fresh upon ordering, they are undeniably among the best I’ve tasted. Eli Narvaez’s claim of their superiority resonates as you savor each doughy bite; a true testament to the authenticity offered here.
Pricing is a pleasant surprise, with many dishes ranging from $6 to $13, making it accessible for any budget. Amelior Scout notes the incredible value for such delicious food, and I must agree. Everything from the hearty Rincon Beleadas—a wonderful meld of burrito and quesadilla—exhibits wonderful seasoning and care.
